Foothills and freeways are hard on a car
Sylmar sits against the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains, and the Golden State (I-5) and Foothill (I-210) freeways meet here. Long grades and freeway runs ask a lot of brakes and cooling systems, especially in a Valley summer. If your car has been braking differently or running warm, say so when you request service.
Tell us what you notice on the hills
Does the pedal feel soft on a downhill street? Does the temperature gauge climb on a grade or in slow traffic? Describing where and when it happens helps guide the inspection, and the shop will explain the findings and an estimate before any work is approved.
